Tiger Claw Space Marine Army Update - Command, Scouts, and Devastator Squads

Welcome Fellow Grognards and Young Guard!

It has been a almost three months since my last post, so this will be the first post for 2025!

Having said that, it doesn't mean I haven't been busy in the hobby.

Looking back on 2024 and early 2025, I have spent a great deal of time building miniatures that I have 'rescued' from eBay, shedding my closet and floors of boxed treasures.  My goal was to see exactly what I have, what the envisioned armies were looking like and also prevent myself from re-purchasing something I already have, just because I couldn't find it!  Those who have moved around a bit, as I have, can surely sympathize as you likely have more than one toaster floating around because you didn't feel like digging through all of the boxes in your garage from the last move so buying another toaster was a justified spend.  LOL!

Anyway, enough about toasters and back to miniatures.  I have been painting regularly again and working hard to finish the great Tiger Claw Space Marine project.  I believe I started purchasing and building miniatures for this army over two years ago and finally am coming to the end of painting the forces.  It has been a labor of love (or an act of insanity), but I'm so close to seeing it to completion.

Below are some pictures of the latest installments and the first model count for the year.  I am actively working on another 30 Tactical Marines and should have them finished shortly.  Behind them sits three Speeders, five space marine bikes and one attack bike to complete the army.

For now, I hope you enjoy the pics of my Command Squad, Scout Squad, and Devastator Squad.

The end of the Tiger Claw project is within site.  Until next time...GAME ON!

Tiger Claw Space Marines

Welcome fellow Grognards and Young Guard!

This will be my final post for 2024, so fitting to FINALLY post the Tiger Claw Space Marines I have been working through the year to paint.  Not claiming they are all done (still many primer coated minis and vehicles in the box yet to paint) but I was able to get a substantial number of them painted.  I polished off the final mini for the year today, the Tiger Claw Librarian below.

The list of completed minis goes as follows:

Two Predators

One Rhino

One Razorback

One Devastator Squad (10 minis)

Two Assault Squads (w/ jump packs) (20 minis)

Two Tactical Squads (20 minis)

Two Terminator Squads (10 minis)

Librarian

Chaplain

Regarding the decals, I tried creating my own waterslide transfers, but failed epically.  So, I printed them on paper and applied them to the vehicles with wood glue over the paint.  Initially, I did not leave a large black space around the icons, but added them on later iterations, so some of them are not quite 'round' but I think I hid them well enough to pass.

Also, as far as the squad icons, I used the 'up arrow' for Tactical, the 'triangle' for Devastator, and the 'X' for the Assault squads.  Made it easier to paint them on.  BTW...the Tiger icons on the marines are all freehand paints as well.

Hope you all enjoy!

Stay safe, have a Happy New Year and Best Wishes in 2025!

Until 2025...have some pork, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes!

GAME ON!

Just wanted to say thanks to my technical crew as well.  Sammy (Orange Tabby of Terror) on 'Scenics' and Ollie (Brown, Tan, White Tabby of Fuz) on 'Layouts'.
